Dixie Lee's timeless and personal lyricism expresses a deep faith in love, truth and compassion. Blended with a gentle nudge of the priceless knowledge that people are all more alike than different, her music quickly captivates the listener with simple messages: universally recognizable but too-often forgotten. The combination of the captivating and melodic flow of her songs, her traditional country roots, and her serenely powerful delivery, Dixie Lee's colorful work creates a music video without anyone ever picking up a camera. Being influenced by such artists as Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette, Linda Ronstandt and Bonnie Raitt, Dixie has developed a unique style within her own music which brings together the individual gifts of each songstress. From the sweetness in Ronstandts' vocals to the soulfullness and raw elements found in the music of Bonnie Raitt. From Lorettas' frankness in her songwriting, to the deliciously sad flavor that haunts the sound of Wynette, Lee's music is filled with gripping self-honesty. In 1999 Dixie Lee released her first solo album entitled "The Rhythm of Recovery" and sold over 5000 copies through the Hazelden Foundation based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Dixie also helped promote her music through performing at conventions throughout south Mississippi, and by donating copies of the album to local families and businesses. Dixie Lee's latest demo "Military Wives" pays tribute not only to her own Mother, but to all of the spouses who are all 'heroes in their own right'. Dedicated, spiritual, honest and loving, Dixie Lee's rich vocals and heartfelt songwriting will soothe your very spirit as you listen.
